The ISMTF is a nonprofit foundation whose purpose is to provide support in the enrichment of teaching and learning of mathematics at international schools, nurture exchange of experiences among mathematics educators, and to help generate interest in and enthusiasm for mathematics among students of these schools.

Dr. Ibrahim Wazir has more than 30 years of teaching experience, both as a Mathematics teacher at the American International School and as Mathematics Professor at Webster University Vienna (Teacher of the Year 1993); he has been the Mathematics Department Head at both institutions since 1986 and 1990, respectively.

Ibrahim’s functions with the IB included:  Assistant Examiner for Mathematics HL since 1989, Deputy Chief Examiner for Mathematics, Higher Level 1995 - 1999, and Chief Examiner for Further Mathematics from 1999 to 2005. He was also Member of the Curriculum Committee of the International Baccalaureate from 1990 – 1992, and 1996 – 2005.

Starting in 1990, Ibrahim is a distinguished and widely respected workshop leader for numerous IB Mathematics workshops for new and experienced teachers in Amman, Bratislava, Cairo, Denver, Warsaw, Budapest, New York, Vienna, Latvia, Geneva, Gdansk, Lubliyana, Barcelona, Athens, Tokyo, Singapore, Osaka, Chang Mai, and Kuala Lumpur.

He wrote items for the ACT and read examinations for the College Board’s AP Calculus Exams.
He led workshops and gave talks about Technology in Teaching Mathematics, among others, across the globe for the past 20 years including ICTCM and NCTM. Ibrahim is founder and first editor of The Centroid, the ECIS Math Committee's newsletter. He is also founder and chairman of the International Schools Math Teachers Foundation, ISMTF, a nonprofit foundation whose purpose is to provide support in the enrichment of teaching and learning of mathematics at international schools. Ibrahim’s previous publications include an article on “The Critical Points of Polynomial Families”,  published in The College Mathematics Journal, Vol. 27, No. 4, Sept. 1996, and 6 case studies for Statistics for Business and Economics (book and website), Anderson et al, and published by Thomson, 2007.
